Fraud - Are you at risk?

Fraud constitutes nearly 40% of all criminal activity. Within a single year, approximately 1 in 17 adults in England and Wales experienced fraud, totalling around 3 million individuals.

Additionally, over a span of three years, 1 in 5 businesses fell prey to fraud.

This highlights that fraud is widespread and can impact anyone.

Believing you are safe from fraud? Think again. Fraudsters employ sophisticated techniques to exploit us when we are most vulnerable. No one is exempt from the threat of fraud. It is crucial for everyone to be vigilant and proactive in safeguarding against these risks.

Fraudsters employ various strategies and techniques to either take your money directly or gather personal details for future fraudulent activities. They are active across multiple platforms, including websites, apps, emails, texts, phone calls, mail, and even face-to-face interactions, such as at your doorstep.

Do you believe you could recognise an attempt to defraud you? While we may want to trust in our ability to identify a fraud from afar, the reality is that fraudsters are relentless, and their tactics are becoming increasingly complex.
